Well today is the last day of 2011 and I thought there would be no better time than now to reflect on what an amazing year it has been.ย There have been major highs and devastating lows.
The start of the year my cousin had a stroke and were told his recovery would be difficult, but with time and a lot of work on his part he seems to be doing well which is a huge relief! I was able to go see him during the year and he is fighting fit ๐ Love you Bruce glad your getting better ๐
Next there were terrible bush fires that swept through Kelmscott and Rolystone, destroying 80 homes in the area including two houses on my street (no one lived in them, luckily) and many other people lost their homes too! It was a very scary time!! It makes you realise how lucky you are! I live in a community with very strong courageous and lovely people. I have friends and family that are amazingly supportive and I cannot thank them enough for housing us when we couldn’t return to our home and of course were one of the very lucky ones, we still had our home to go back to so I have many things to be thankful for!
But a month after the fires one of the best things to ever come into my life arrived…
Baby McKenzie Jade Fergusson…the most delightful little baby girl you could ever meet! She has brought so much joy to our family we love her to bits!!
The next major event was my trip to Europe with my partner Rhys, which many of you know about because you read about our daily adventures, for new subscribers check out my travel section hereย I did a blog almost daily while we travelled around Europe for 3 months ๐
The trip was amazing! Travelling with Rhys was fantastic! I feel like we both grew from the experience and we had the best time. Here’s a a random selection of shots from the trip ๐
When I came back from my trip I was all motivated and excited to start my own photography business, I studied it for two years and thought why not try it on my own ๐
So I started Erin McKenzie Creative and here are some of the lovely photos that were created
I love doing this! I hope I can get enough business to be able to afford to keep at it but I think 2012 is going to bring lots of business and many more beautiful photos and I can’t wait ๐
Some sad news though, last week I lost my great uncle Dennis, he was a lovely man who lived a great life. He will be with his wife now ๐ RIP Dennis! You will be missed! His daughter came over with her partner Chris to spend Christmas with us, which was so good! They are lovely people and they made it a really great Christmas! Thank you Jan and Chris for coming over ๐
And here we are … the last day of 2011 … it’s been a busy one! There have been many sad moments and moments of greatness. I can’t wait for 2012, and hey! 2012 year the world is supposed to end ย – so lets live it like it is and it will be the best year of your lives ๐
Hi Erin, I wish you all the best for the New Year!
Great round up for the year. Love the photo montages!
