A place to play

My nieces are my absolute WORLD! When we moved house, I wanted to make sure that there was space just for them, so that they felt like it was their home too. With this in mind, we decided the first bedroom we would redecorate would be the kids room!

With a very limited budget and utilising old furniture and paint colours we already had we wanted to transform the space into something fun and functional.

Must haves, a comfy bed, a reading nook, an art space and plenty storage.

All decor items were from Kmart! I took my eldest niece, I gave her a budget of $100 and let her pick EVERYTHING! From the doona covers to the artwork! (although, I added an Elemental Print in there too) Mckenzie picked the most colourful fun items! and I love what she has done to this space.

It’s a little busy, a lot fun! A great place for the kids to hang when they stay here. Of course all the toys and books get dragged into the living area! haha! but at least they have a place to live.

The Details:

I white gloss painted the skirts + Doors. It really lifted the room immediately!

Wall Colour: Dulux “Miller Mood”. Another colour that we had in our previous home. It probably wasn’t the perfect colour for this space, as it’s a little blue, but it was definitely an improvement on the pink!

Pendant: Beacon Lighting

Print: “Ripple” – Elemental Prints

All decor items: Kmart Australia! and on a very tight budget! This entire space transformation was under $100

What room would you like to see next??
