No ‘Rome’ing today.

It’s our first official day in Rome!
We have quite a bit of time here, 4 nights this stay and another two after Positano, so we have some time to chill out which is nice!

Chris’s sisters (and their husbands) kindly bought us a colosseum tour and today is the day! We got up nice and early (for us) made a quick breaky and hit the road to head there for our 11am tour. Easy enough to reach on foot from us – a 30 min walk, which is nothing for us now.

We fought crowds to get to the gates in time, only to be told we couldn’t get in with our tickets and needed to head to a different office to validate our ticket/meet our tour group.

We had no idea where the office was and no information. I managed to get my network to work to discover it was a bit of trek and with the crazy crowds, we would have missed our start time regardless of our hustle. Booo!! Fortunately, I have done the Colosseum before and Chris isn’t a “tourist” So we accepted the fact it wasn’t going to happen and took in the sights from a distance.

We decided chilling in the apartment feels more appropriate for us today. ©EMC_6-4©EMC_9-6©EMC_11-4©EMC_13-5©EMC_14-5Processed with VSCO with a6 presetHome time for some anime watching and a nap. heck yeahhhhh! Love me a nap! Spent practically the whole day here haha!Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

In the evening we sipped on wine (me) and coke (Chris) in bed, eating the worlds largest bag of potato chips.   When in Rome ey?

For dinner we headed to one of the restaurants recommended to us by our driver from yesterday! I normally avoid eating in main squares, but thats not possible in Rome haha! The food was lovely! Carpaccio + mussels for me, pasta for Chris! Great way to end our easy day.

We have NO idea what we are going to do tomorrow! and that feels good! Night all!
